American Idol Betting Heats Up At Online Sports Books

The American Idol betting is now under way as the competition has reached the top twenty-four contestants.

Now that American Idol has reached the point where fans can start identifying with contestants, sports books have started to offer odds on the new seasons competition. The top-twenty four has been revealed, and already odds makers have listed the favorites.

All of the contestants are currently offering strong odds for bettors. No matter which contestant a gambler chooses to place their money on this early in the competition, even the favorites are offering at least 8/1 odds.

Scotty McCreery is the favorite heading into the round of twenty-four, with odds of +820. Those odds are slightly better than Julie Zorrilla, who has odds of +850. The two favorites should get plenty of action from gamblers in the coming weeks.

The long shots have always fared well in the American Idol competition. Two years ago, Kris Allen won after being a 60/1 choice through the first few weeks of the live shows. Last year it was Lee DeWyze that became the American Idol, even though he started the competition with odds of more than 12/1.

This year, there are plenty of long shots that bettors can pin their hopes on. Clint Jun Gamboa is a +4100 choice, and long haired Brett Lowenstein has odds of +4300. Rachel Zevita and Lauren Turner are two more long shots, with +4300, and +3900 odds, respectively.

The American Idol competition will go on over the next several months and fans will begin to vote for their favorites. As it becomes more apparent who the fan favorites are, odds makers will adjust the betting odds accordingly.
