Full Tilt Million Guarantee Has Mizrachi Woman Place Second

Lily Mizrachi takes second in Full Tilt tournament Sunday

Over the course of the past few years, the Mizrachi men have made quite a name for themselves on poker tables across the world. The biggest success came this year for Michael Mizrachi, who placed in in the money in several World Series of Poker events, and also made the final table of the main event.

On Sunday, it was another Mizrachi that made the headlines during an online poker tournament. Lily Mizrachi, Michael’s wife, finished second in the Full Tilt $1 million guarantee this past weekend.

Showing that the ability to play cards runs deep in the Mizrachi family, Lily made her way through a field of 2,092 players to claim the $141,837.60 second place prize. Mizrachi fell just short of taking home the first place prize of over $230,000.

The online game has not been kind to the Mizrachi’s this year when it comes to tournaments. Lily’s win was the largest amount won by the family in online action this year. Now, the couple will turn their attention towards 2011.

Online poker, according to many lawmakers, is illegal in the US. Players, however, are at little risk when they play online, and many have kept their accounts open even after the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act went into affect.

Lawyers all around the country have debated whether or not online poker is covered as one of the illegal games under the UIGEA, but most agree it is not. That may be why millions of players continue to play on a daily basis.

The tournaments held at Full Tilt and PokerStars every Sunday are a good indication of how the public views the online gambling laws. Thousands of players enter the tournaments, although some are from outside the US.
